How do I get out of the 'friend zone'?

There's this gorgeous girl. That I'm best friends with. Her and her boyfriend broke up a while back, and I would absolutely love to date her. but she thinks if we dated then broke up..we'd never speak again. And that's true. I can understand how she feels. See? I'm stuck in the Friend Zone. How do I get from that to dating? ~Thanks
